2024
Klara Red

2024 Klara Red consists of three grape varieties typical of the south of France, which come from the Minervois and the Gard this year. The wine is a very deep and intense dark red colour. The fruity nose is dominated by aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant and very ripe black berries, mingled with muskier and spicier notes. The wine is full-bodied, beautifully balanced and delicious on the palate with silky tannins, going on to reveal intense and longlasting flavours. The overall impression is of a fruity wine, quickly giving way to notes of prunes, mocha and leather. Carignan and Syrah complement each other with nuances of spices and herbes de Provence caressing the finish.

Climate
The 2024 vintage was characterised by a mild winter with low rainfall, a wet spring, and a late start to the summer. By mid-July, in Corbières, Languedoc Roussillon and up to Provence, véraison (colour change) had only just begun. Winegrowers took the necessary measures to monitor the vines as closely as possible and cope with the threat of vine diseases. While the Corbières and Pyrénées Orientales vineyards suffered a year of great drought, others benefited from high rainfall, particularly around Montpellier and the Gard up to Provence. The vines of this terroir enjoyed warm, dry weather in the last few weeks before the harvest, with mild nights thanks to the tramontane wind, which was propitious to the ripening of the grapes. The 2024 vintage is the reflection of winegrowers’ unremitting work and their ability to overcome the vagaries of the weather.
