Klara Red

Fruit-forward, jammy & spicy. Elegant on the palate, with powerful tannins. Aromas of fragrant southern underbrush, rosemary, thyme & wild sage.

Dark red colour, suggesting a rich and concentrated wine. The nose is powerful and fruity with hints of smoke, pepper and spices. Starts out fruity and delicious, becoming elegant mid-palate with concentrated flavours of candied red fruit and licorice, underpinned by powerful tannins. Aromas typical of wines from southern France fill the palate, such as empyreumatic notes, alongside thyme and rosemary, reminiscent of Provence. All in all, a well-balanced and robust wine.

Climate

The 2023 vintage was marked by contrasts in southern France. After drought conditions during winter and early spring, May and June saw alternating spells of rain and sunshine. The summer was dry to the west of Languedoc but hot and stormy towards the east, particularly in the Gard and Provence regions. Despite the threat of mildew in spring and several heatwaves in summer, the vintage lived up to its promises, producing aromatic wines with wonderful acidity.
